Virginia Run for the Fallen

The 14th annual Virginia Run for the Fallen was held last Thursday through Sunday, with runners honoring the sacrifice of America’s military fallen service members and their families. “Regardless of war or conflict, the branch of service, or cause of death, we ultimately run for them all,” a post on social media stated. The group of runners made it all the way from Fort Story in Virginia Beach to Arlington National Cemetery, stopping along the way at designated markers every few miles to pay tribute to individual Virginians who gave their last full measure of devotion to their country. Late Thursday afternoon, Jake Lang, John Burcher and Adam Stroik, from left, carry the U.S. and the Honor and Remember flags as they run past Gloucester’s Cook Out restaurant on Route 17.
