Virginia “Ginny Belle” Mattox Furst, age 98, of Gloucester, Va., died on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Ginny Belle was born on June 11, 1927 in Cambridge, Md., to the late Alvah and Bertye Caulk Mattox. She grew up on Toddsbury Lane and graduated from Botetourt High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Howard Irving Furst, and by her son, Steven Furst. She is survived by her son, Bruce Furst; grandchildren, Samuel Furst, Amber Furst Heim, Ashley Virginia Furst, and by the entire family of her daughter-in-law, Alicia, who all loved her. The funeral service, conducted by Pastor Calvin Griffin, will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Singleton United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Windsor Gardens Cemetery.
