VIMS to participate in VLM’s Career Day Saturday

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science will be participating at the Virginia Living Museum’s first STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Career Day from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the Newport News museum.

Museum guests will be able to learn about careers in plant and animal care, planetary science, community science, museum exhibit design, as well as a variety of STEM career paths.

During the event, VIMS staff will highlight their day-to-day job responsibilities, the tools and background knowledge that prepared them for their career and the pathway that brought them to their position.

Visitors will be able to talk with professionals at display tables throughout the museum, ask questions to staff and volunteers about their roles during animal feedings and enjoy hands-on activities to learn more about STEM careers.
