VIMS Marine Science Day

The entire Gloucester Point campus of the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences opened its doors to the public on Saturday as the school celebrated its annual 23rd annual Marine Science Day. The event featured exhibits, children’s activities, tours, mini-lectures and much more. Above, Bill Walton, Acuff Professor of Marine Science and Shellfish Aquaculture Program Coordinator, explains the process of harvesting oysters to visitors Bev and Gary Dickens, and their grandchild Evi Lansing.
