The Virginia Institute of Marine Science is accepting submissions for its Marine Science Day Art Contest. The theme of this year’s contest is marshes.

The contest is open to amateur artists of all ages. Entries are limited to two-dimensional paintings, drawings, etc. No photographs. All artwork must be original.

First-, second- and third-place winners will be recognized at VIMS on Marine Science Day (June 4) in the following categories: Pre-K: Ages 3-5; Youth: Ages 6-12; Teen: Ages 13-17; and Adult: Ages 18+. One first-place winner from the categories will be selected as Grand Prize winner.
