VIMS applications now open for fall 2023

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science is now accepting applications for its School of Marine Science for fall 2023. VIMS is a division of the College of William and Mary.

All applicants must have a bachelor of arts or science degree from an accredited institution to apply. Applicants for the professional degree (M.A.) program do not need to have been science majors, but must be able to demonstrate preparation for graduate-level courses in science and mathematics.

Applicants for the M.S. and Ph.D. programs should have a strong background in basic science, including physics and chemistry (through organic), mathematics through calculus, and contemporary biology courses. The prospective chemical, geological or physical oceanography student should have an undergraduate degree with appropriate coursework in chemistry, geology or related geophysical science (e.g., physics, meteorology, mathematics, or engineering), and a solid quantitative background.
