Village Cleaners opens Gloucester Point branch

Village Cleaners opened a new branch at Tidemill Center, Gloucester Point, on Monday.

Owner Brian Kirschbaum of Gloucester said this is “absolutely a new market for us,” as the branch is located about 10 miles south of its main plant in Gloucester Court House. Village Cleaners operates other branches on Route 17 south of the Gloucester village, Mathews Court House, Urbanna and Kilmarnock.

The branches are drop-off/pick-up stores, Kirschbaum said. Village Cleaners offers full dry cleaning and laundry services.

In addition, other services include shoe repair, sewing and alternations, wedding gown cleaning and preservation, and specialty cleaning for leather, suede and furs.

Kirschbaum’s mother, Brenda Kirschbaum works part-time at the Tidemill location, with another part-time employee recently hired to work there.
