The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 75 had lunch with the veterans in Gloucester House on Veterans Day. Auxiliary members performed a flag-folding ceremony, sang patriotic musical selections, put a flag pin on each veteran and handed out treat bags. Members taking part included, from left, Cheryl Knapke, Sheila Korycinski, Julie Coates, Claudia Clifton, Jennifer Anlauf, Shelli Fisher, Edna Gardner, Fran McKinney, Leah Dugan, Cheryl Slavnik and future member Renee Ramirez. On Nov. 8, the members delivered treat bags to the veterans in care facilities at Walter Reed and Mathews. On Nov. 12, they visited Sanders and also performed a flag-folding ceremony, sang patriotic songs, put a flag pin on the veterans. Then they handed out goodie bags and listened to some amazing stories while enjoying cookies and punch provided by Sanders.
