Vera Marie Bauer, 94, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017.

She was born in New Orleans, in 1922. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Hans Bauer, and her parents, Herman and Lena Pust.

Vera was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Gloucester. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 75, Gloucester, past president of the Triangle Square Dance Club, and a fifty-year member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 99 in Westfield, New Jersey.

She is survived by her two sons, Carl Bauer and wife Edna, and Allan Bauer and wife Laura; grandchildren, Jennifer Sabo and husband Robert, Allan Bauer and wife Valerie, Brittney Bauer and Samantha Lyons; step-grandchildren, Joey and wife Sharon, Philip and Jennifer; great-grandchild, Jackson, and step-great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Dylan and Vivien.

Memorial service conducted by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be private in Hampton Veteran Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service on Friday from 4-5 at the funeral home.
