VDOT crews to perform drainage work in counties

The Virginia Department of Transportation has released a list of Gloucester and Mathews roads where it plans to perform drainage work during the next couple of weeks.

"This work is weather dependent, and may need to be rescheduled if emergency or other unplanned events arise," said Kelly Hannon, a spokesperson for VDOT.

In Gloucester, projects will include:

—Route 17 at White Marsh Shopping Center, where crews will clean out and define the ditch in front of the storage buildings and about 100 yards south of this location;

—Route 17 at Brickwood Grill restaurant, crews will begin clearing underbrush from outlet ditch;

—Route 610, Woods Cross Roads, crews will perform ditch work to define the shoulders using a motor-grader, and

—Williams Landing Road, VDOT crews will clean an outfall ditch in the 6600 block of Williams Landing Road.
