Nicole Michael says she’s blessed to be a third generation owner of Vashti’s, a full-service jewelry store in Gloucester’s Edgehill Town Center that offers high-end gold and platinum jewelry, custom design work, and in-house repairs.

Michael’s grandmother Vashti and mother Joan “built a very successful business that I am proud to carry on today,” she said.

Times are different now than when her predecessors ran the store, said Michael, and the biggest challenge she faces today is the growth of the internet. But she faces that challenge by providing great customer service and a unique mix of product that continues to bring customers into the store.

Innovatively, Michael offers a custom design program so the shop can build one-of-a-kind pieces, and she attends trade shows twice a year to stay on top of the industry trends and bring ideas and information back to the store for her customers.
