Vanessa Rose Kellum, age 60, of Hayes, died on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. Vanessa was a free spirit who loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Shackelford. Survivors include two sons, Joseph Smith and Daniel Smith; grandchildren, Natalie Smith, Jacob Smith, Zoey Smith, and Leland Smith; her mother, Florence Whitt; brothers, Melvin Shackelford, Billy Whitt, and Dinky Whitt; and a very special friend, Charlotte Smith Hall. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1-1:45 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. The service in the chapel, conducted by Pastor Bill West, will follow at 2 o’clock. The inurnment will be private.
