Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappa-hannock in White Stone distributes 10 percent of the previous year’s donations to Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula charities that follow UU principles. A release said recipients provide “services essential to the betterment and well-being of the community,” and that the distribution is one of the congregation’s foundational principles. This year, the UUFR presented checks to The Link, The Haven, and the Healthy Harvest Food Bank. The Link, whose motto is “Linking Hope and Help” connects people with the tools, services, and support needed to overcome hardship and build a more confident future. The Haven works toward “eliminating intimate partner violence on the Northern Neck as well as Essex County.” Healthy Harvest Food Bank is headquartered in Warsaw and partners with a number of food pantries throughout the Northern Neck and parts of the Middle Peninsula.
