Utilities director resigns in Gloucester

Gloucester’s director of public utilities Marty Schlesinger resigned from his position, effective Friday. He had notified the county of his departure last month.

Gloucester’s assistant county administrator of community development Garrey Curry has been appointed to serve as interim public utilities director until the position, which is being advertised, is filled.

It is county policy for the county administrator and human resources department not to make official statements concerning departures of county employees, according to county spokesperson Christi Lewis. Schlesinger also declined to comment.
