County Cars and Trucks, LLC, opened for business Dec. 12 on Route 17, just south of Wawa convenience store at White Marsh.

Owners Jerry Gilbert of Williamsburg, and Ronnie Bowler of Newport News, operate the new business full-time. They try to offer an assortment of vehicles in the $5,000 range, if possible, but also stock some higher priced vehicles.

Gilbert said they sell all types of cars and trucks, both domestic and foreign. All of the vehicles are pre-owned, they said, and they purchase many of the vehicles online and at auctions, as well as accept vehicles as trade-ins.

Hondas and Toyotas sell well, they said, but their lot also stocks many other types of cars and trucks. Gilbert said they do not rent cars, like another car business that operated at the same location once did.

Bowler and Gilbert together previously owned or operated three vehicle businesses on the Peninsula, one each in Newport News, York County and Poquoson.
