Ursula Hilda Gregory was born on Jan. 22, 1926, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Georg and Hilda Opitz; she passed away Jan. 13, 2017 in Gloucester.

She came to the United States in 1948 after marrying Vernon Paul Gurske of Portland, Oregon.

After her divorce she settled in Torrance, California, to raise her two sons and work as a secretary for Western Airlines. 

After her retirement from Western in 1982, she settled in Ware Neck. She spent most of her remaining time traveling, visiting with family and friends, gardening and caring for three generations of spoiled, beloved dogs. 

When she became a naturalized citizen, she had the option to change her name. As a new last name she chose a name from her favorite movie star, Gregory Peck.

She is survived by one son, one niece, and two nephews.

At her request services will be private.
