The Urbanna Oyster Festival, Virginia’s official celebration of oysters and one of the world’s oldest festivals dedicated to the tasty bivalve, returns Friday and Saturday for the 68th annual event in the Middlesex County town.
Held annually in Urbanna on the first consecutive Friday and Saturday of November, this event draws over 50,000 visitors from across Virginia and beyond, transforming the town of just 500 residents into a bustling hub of excitement.
As a “pay-as-you-go” festival, entry is free, but certain areas like VIP experiences, parking, and the wine section may require a fee.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The town will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 5-9 p.m. Friday for the Fireman’s Parade and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Parking is $20 per day Friday and Saturday.
