Urbanna campground to host Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The 2017 Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Bethpage Camp Resort at 679 Browns Lane in Urbanna.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with a brief ceremony at 9:30. The walk begins at 10 o’clock.

There will be free popcorn and hot dogs, a DJ with music, and face painting, rock painting, and a clown for the children.

The walk is held annually to raise funds to eliminate Alzheimer’s through the advancement of research; to provide care and support for all those affected by the illness, and to reduce the risk of dementia by promoting brain health. The local fundraising goal for 2017 is $81,449.

Rick Reid of Gloucester is the honorary chair for this year’s walk.
