Upcoming free medical clinic topic of Aug. 1 talk

Rappahannock Community College nursing instructor Rebecca White will be the guest speaker at the Aug. 1 meeting of the Gloucester Resource Council, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Gloucester Main Library’s community room. White will discuss the Remote Area Medical free clinic that will be offered this fall.

The clinic will be offered Nov. 4-5 in Richmond County. Medical, dental and vision care will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for people who often cannot afford to pay, according to a release. Care will be provided regardless of insurance, financial or residency qualifications. 

The clinic is being hosted by RAM Virginia, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide free quality health care to those in need.  

The November event is being sponsored by the RCC Educational Foundation and will be coordinated by students and instructors of the college’s associate degree nursing program. For information about donating or volunteer...
