Allyson Bridges is the owner of Up South, 6628 Main Street, Gloucester, a shop that offers women’s apparel, jewelry, handbags, candles and gift items. She owns the business with her mother, Connie Field, and her aunt, Karen Soles who Bridges said are great business partners. They built the business in April 2014.
“Through customer service and taking time to build relationships we have managed to form a loyal following of customers that help to keep our doors open, especially through COVID-19,” she said.
Bridges is from Gloucester and has completed some college credits towards an associate’s degree. Her first taste of business was growing up working in the local flower shop.
