Union Baptist Food Ministry

The Abingdon Ruritan Club donated $1,000 to Union Baptist Church, Achilles, to assist with year-round operation of the Food Ministry. Union Baptist Church helps families and individuals who have basic food needs. Families can receive food once a week. Volunteers invest hundreds of hours of work each year collecting food from community grocery stores. Distribution is held on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The food pantry trailer is located near Achilles Elementary School in the back of the parking lot next to the old Union Hall building.
