Members of Captain Sally Tompkins United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter 2626 placed a wreath on Captain Sally’s grave as its Memorial Day observance. Tompkins, a Confederate nurse, is buried at Christ Episcopal Church cemetery, Mathews.
