Two write-in candidates emerge for school board seat

While no names will be on the ballot for the Abingdon district’s representative on the Gloucester County School Board, two residents have stepped forward as write-in candidates—Jane Wenner and G.R. “Randy” Burak, who currently holds the seat.

Wenner, 59, a Gloucester resident since 1994, has worked with Gloucester County since 2005, and is currently Gloucester’s assistant emergency manage-

ment coordinator. 

Wenner said her children went through Gloucester’s school system years ago and she now has time to give back. “I think it’s time to give back to the schools in the community,” she said. A strong supporter of the school system, she said she will advocate for both the teachers and the students. “I think I could bring a balance among their needs,” she added.
