Two new staff join Mathews County

Mathews County has two new employees in its administration offices, Judi Green of Hayes and Ashley Hubbard of Gloucester.

Green, who began working for the county on Sept. 1, is the new office manager and deputy clerk for the board of supervisors. In this dual position, she is the records retention officer for the county and assisting Assistant County Administrator Julie Kaylor with her job as clerk to the board.

After studying business administration at Thomas Nelson Community College, Green spent almost 20 years working from home providing bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll services for a contractor while raising five children and several foster children. Once her children were grown, she went to work as the lead executive assistant at a hospital, then moved on to an office management position at a senior living facility before accepting the position in Mathews.
