Virginia Tidewater Trailrunners plans two multi-sport events in Mathews County this fall.

The Put-In Creek Duathlon at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, will combine a run from the new kayak ramp at Mathews Court House to Williams Wharf, less than three miles, and kayaking from the Wharf up East River and Put-In Creek back to the village, about 2.5 miles.

In addition, a Micro-Triathlon, which VTT spokesman Christine Johnson called “a starter tri,” is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Williams Wharf.

The biking and running segments will take place on Williams Wharf Road and nearby roads, with the swim taking place at the wharf.
