Two longtime employees retire from Gazette-Journal

Two longtime employees of the Gazette-Journal will retire on Friday.

The Gloucester County School Board recognized Kim Robins for more than 35 years’ coverage of the school division in the Gazette-Journal. Presenting her with a plaque at the board’s December meeting, at left, was school board chair Robin Rice.

Kim Robins, a reporter, joined the paper in 1986 and has covered schools, courts, and many other topics in the past 35 years. She is a 1978 graduate of Gloucester High School and in her senior year, was a student sports reporter for the paper. She is a graduate of James Madison University.

Patty Strigle has been on the Gazette-Journal’s staff for nearly 30 years and in charge of the circulation department for about 20 years.

Patty Strigle joined the paper in 1992 after a career in banking. She has served as bookkeeper and circulation manager, and is being succeeded at the circulation desk by Lynda Smith. Strigle is a graduate of Mathews High School and Rappahannock C...
