Two Gloucester school nurses recognized for fundraising efforts

Two nurses for Gloucester County Public Schools have won gift cards for their participation in the Prevent Blindness Sip for Sight campaign. The gift cards will be used to help supply their respective school clinics.

The Sip for Sight is a fundraiser in which school nurses host coffee and refreshments for their school staffs in exchange for donations. 

Peasley Middle School nurse Judy Parker, with the help of the Peasley PTA, hosted breakfast for Peasley staffers prior to the school day on Sept. 17. Parker said her event was “very well attended and supported” and she raised $255.

At Bethel Elementary, nurse Robin Zophy hosted a breakfast of doughnuts, bagels and fruit for her staffers, also on Sept. 17. “The majority of the staff came in and got what they wanted and left a donation,” said Zophy, who was pleased that her participants took all of the fruit.
