Two from GHS receive financial literacy grants

Gloucester High School business teacher Jackie Outten and senior naval science instructor Justin Whitt have each been awarded $500 grants from Langley Federal Credit Union for their financial literacy education efforts. 

“It is so important to provide students with the basics of financial management. A good foundation gives young people the opportunity to develop disciplined saving and spending habits which will serve them well throughout their lives,” said LFCU president/CEO Tom Ryan in announcing the grant recipients. 

LFCU has been awarding the teacher grants for nine years; this year it awarded grants of $500 each to 22 recipients in the Hampton Roads area. ...
