Two accidents reported on Route 14

A tree fell on a pickup truck traveling on Route 14 Monday afternoon, sending the driver to the hospital.

Virginia State Police 1st Sgt. Greg Mathias said Steven Rowzee, 50, of Gloucester was traveling eastbound on Route 14 when a tree fell over on his 2003 Ford F-250 pickup, striking it in the front end. The accident occurred at about 3:45 p.m.

Mathias said Rowzee was transported by ambulance for medical treatment but had no information regarding his injuries. The truck was a total loss and VDOT cut up the tree and removed it from the roadway. Trooper James Street investigated the incident.

Another accident on Route 14 on Saturday sent a Yorktown man to the hospital. Mathias said Kevin Bock, 37, of Gloucester pulled his 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup out of a crossover and into the path of a westbound 2005 Honda Accord driven by Randall Schaffer of Yorktown.
