Twigg Bridge inspection Friday

The Virginia Department of Transportation will have a crew performing a routine inspection on the Twigg Bridge on Route 3 between Mathews and Middlesex counties from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday.

Motorists should expect brief delays that day, said VDOT spokesperson Kelly Hannon.

Also, Hannon said VDOT plans two road-patching projects in Mathews next week. From 7 a.m.-7 p.m. next Wednesday-Friday, July 27-29, crews will be patching on Route 14 from Route 611 to just east of Route 729 (Weston Hall Road).

During those same days and times, crews will be patching on Route 198 from just east of Route 1015 (Cross Court) to Route 633 (Fitchett’s Wharf Road).

Motorists should expect brief delays in both work zones, Hannon said. The Route 198 patching is expected to continue until Wednesday, Aug. 3. ...
