The deadline for candidates to register for their name to appear on the Nov. 3 general election ballot is Tuesday. Candidates can find all of the paperwork needed to file on the state Department of Elections website, http://elections.virginia.gov. All paperwork must be submitted to the local registrar’s office.

In Gloucester, the following offices are up for election: Virginia Senate (3rd district), House of Delegates (98th district), Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sheriff, Commissioner of Revenue, Treasurer, Clerk of Court, two Soil and Water Conservation District directors, and board of supervisors and school board seats for the Ware, Abingdon, Gloucester Point and one of the two at-large districts.
