TSWCD holds student poster contest

Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting entries for its annual Conservation Poster Contest, an inclusive competition open to all students in grades K–12—including homeschool students—residing in Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex counties. The contest welcomes a wide range of artistic formats, including hand‑drawn art, additionally assisted artwork, graphic design, and braille poster submissions. Each year, the National Association of Conservation Districts announces a theme to guide conservation education and outreach nationwide. This year’s theme is “Soil. Where it all Begins.” All posters must include this phrase on the front of the artwork to qualify for advancement to the state and national levels. Posters may be created using any media and, in any size, provided they are not smaller than 8.5” x 11”. The graphic design category is open to students in grades 7-12 only.
