TSWCD accepting poster contest entries

“Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home” is the theme for this year’s national youth poster contest sponsored by the National Association of Conservation Districts.

Entries will be taken from all Mathews, Gloucester and Middlesex youth in grades K-12. The contest starts at the local level, but winners advance to the state and national levels, with various prizes awarded along the way.

Winners from the three counties will receive a gift certificate. Any Girl Scout or Boy Scout who creates a poster and submits it to their local SWCD for judging can earn the VASWCD Poster Contest Patch.

Poster size must be 14” x 22” and any media may be used to create a flat or two-dimensional effect. For complete rules and entry forms, contact the Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District office at 804-693-3562 ext. 5 or visit www.tidewaterswcd.org.

All entries must be received by Sept. 21 at the Tidewater SWCD office, P.O. Box 677 Gloucester, Va. 23061. ...
