Trend Masters Salon, located on Main Street in Mathews in the building that formerly housed Mary’s Beauty Shoppe, will hold a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25.

The celebration will feature refreshments, product discounts and giveaways, owner Barbara Rios of Gloucester said. The salon will serve its first customers at its new location on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Most recently, Trend Masters had been located in leased space at Rivah Day Spa on Gloucester Road in Saluda; now it leases space from Joe and Lynne Davenport (owners of Richardson’s and Lynne’s Family Restaurant in Mathews).

Rios said she has made many improvements to the building including new lighting and furniture.

Trend Masters has four work stations. Rios said she and stylist Jenna Loomis of Mathews comprise the current staff, but there’s room to add more stylists. Besides offering full hair care services, Rios said she has a tanning bed with high-strength bulbs. Also, ...
