Transportation director appointed for Gloucester Schools

The Gloucester School Board took several personnel actions during its May 8 meeting at the T.C. Walker Education Center. 

Vickram Rajpaul of Williamsburg was named transportation director, following the retirement of Anne Lanan, which the board had approved in January.

Lanan became transportation director in 2012. She started with the division in 1995 as a substitute bus driver, then transportation dispatcher and pupil transportation specialist.

Two other appointments were made for the current school year: Owen Balderson was appointed a seasonal groundskeeper, and Janet Black of Gloucester was appointed a single-run bus driver.

Four appointments were made for the 2018-2019 school year.
