Traffic to share one bridge at Fox Mill Run until repairs are completed

All traffic using the Fox Mill Run bridges will share the northbound bridge for the next 10 months or so, while the aging southbound bridge is replaced.

Kelly Hannon, an information officer for the Virginia Department of Transportation, said that officials planned to begin moving all traffic onto the northbound (toward the village) bridge late Wednesday afternoon or early evening. The switchover was intentionally not planned for the morning rush hour, she said.

The $4 million project, which began last fall, is expected to be completed in November, Hannon said. Motorists will share the northbound bridge, one lane in each direction into and out of the village, until this fall. Earlier, guardrails were upgraded on the northbound bridge.
