Staci Martin, a business development specialist for the Virginia Tourism Corporation, will be available to meet one-on-one with Gloucester business owners from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Main Street Training Center located inside of Main Street Center.

Martin will help business owners construct and refresh their listings on the VTC website, Virginia.org, said Ashley Gilmartin, executive director of the Gloucester Main Street Association, which is coordinating the sessions with the Gloucester Economic Development Office and the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce.

Gilmartin said Martin also will offer suggestions on tourism. Linda Evans, Gloucester’s economic development coordinator, said that Martin will focus on agritourism.

Martin spoke at a business breakfast at York River Oyster Company, Gloucester Point, on July 19. She said tourism is an important industry for Gloucester, but more targeted efforts can be made to attract more tourism here.
