Mathews County and the Mathews Outdoor Club are teaming up to host the 26th annual Tour de Chesapeake cycling event taking place on Saturday across the county.
The event will welcome 450 cyclists from around the state and beyond for a weekend of flat scenic cycling, delicious local eats, toe-tapping music, and down-home folks to help with whatever is needed, said a press release.
The tour is presented by Bernadette La Casse of Burton’s Waterfront, Chesapeake Bank, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Queens Creek Marine, and Lennon Dental.
“We couldn’t do this event without these wonderful sponsors who believe in providing healthy, affordable activities for the whole family to enjoy,” event director Lynda Smith Greve said.
