Micah Toups is the new store manager of Precision Tune Auto Care, located on Route 17 at Hayes. Toups started his new job in mid-November.

Toups has 26 years’ automotive experience, having done everything from sweeping floors in service bays, to working as a service technician, to a manager. Toups worked 25 years for Meineke, including general manager for that chain’s stores in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

“My father got me started” with automotive repair, Toups said, as he tinkered with cars. His father got Toups, 49, into drag racing in his younger years.

As manager, Toups writes service orders for repairs and maintenance for all types of cars and light trucks. Sometimes he even lends a hand in the service bays.

Precision Tune offers oil changes, tires, and many automotive repair services. Toups said computers help diagnose vehicle problems, but you still need a technician to figure out the exact problems and correct them.
