Mary Martha Stewart recently was named executive director of Sanders Retirement Village in Gloucester.

Meanwhile, Stewart said that Anette Allen-Santos is the new administrator for Heron Cove, a senior living facility that features two 20-resident houses. Stacey Knox is the new director of nursing at Heron Cove.

Stewart is in charge of the entire complex: Sanders Assisted Living (32 residents), Independent Cottages (14 residents), Heron Cove and the administrative office. The building that housed the original Sanders Nursing Home now houses administration, she said, and is being renovated so that 20 rooms for short-stay rehabilitation patients will open this fall.

Heron Cove’s home-like setting is a new concept in health care, Stewart said, and is the first complex of its kind in this region.
