The Mathews County Historical Society recently invited the Mathews County Board of Supervisors and county staff to a reception and the dedication of the Tompkins Cottage Museum’s new interpretive sign. An open house allowed guests to tour the cottage with docents and to view the repairs that have been made to the building’s exterior.
