TOGA essay winners

Two Thomas Hunter Middle School students placed in the annual Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association Essay Writing Contest. Faith Lewis (shown in photo above with sixth grade English teacher Allie Robins) took first in the statewide competition, while Desiree Dixon (shown in photo below with THMS science teacher Jerry Ligon) took third place. The two read their winning essays on Saturday to TOGA members at the campus of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Gloucester Point.
