Bob Carlson of Toano, has been chosen as the Bay School Community Arts Center’s artist of the month for March.Carlson’s exhibit features the original paintings from which murals were created for Walmarts across the U.S. Each mural celebrates a Walmart community, created in collaboration with store managers to ensure the mural reflects the area’s unique diversity and cultural identity. “Every piece is an original, one-of-a-kind artwork that honors, and hopefully uplifts, the spirit of the neighborhood it represents,” said a press release. The murals are created by enlarging the original paintings, printing them on plastic film, and installing the wrap on a wall at the store, said Carlson. There are over 1,600 artists in the nationwide program and over 2,500 murals. The collection will be available throughout March both online and in the gallery at 279 Main Street, Mathews....
