The Peninsula Track Club will sponsor the inaugural Timberneck 5K and One-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, June 17, at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes.

The 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. and features competitive categories for both running and walking. Cost is $25 if registration is received on or before June 3. Registration does not include the park admission fee of $5. Late and race-day registrations are also available. The fun run begins at 8 a.m. and is free and open to all ages (pre-registration is required). Proceeds from the race will go to the Fairfield Foundation for the restoration of the Timberneck House, located within the park.
