Chase Whitehurst of New Kent, is the owner of Tidewater Landscapes LLC, located at 8325 Mill Creek Road in West Point.

Established in August 2019, Tidewater Landscapes offers a wide range of land management solutions, including forestry mulching, land clearing, grading/excavation and hydroseeding.

“Starting a business while also working another full-time job was a struggle,” said Whitehurst. “There are many ups and downs when getting a successful business established, but once you lay out your goals and develop plans to reach those goals, the day-to-day tasks fall into place and the business can begin to flourish, regardless of obstacles that get thrown in your way.”

Whitehurst’s father, Robbie, owned a construction company and a motorcycle shop while he was growing up. He spent many summers working with his dad and learning how to talk and relate to customers at a young age.
