Tickets still available for Abingdon Seafood Festival

A limited number of tickets are still available for next month’s Abingdon Ruritan Club Seafood Festival.

The popular event will be held on Wednesday, May 21, from 3-8 p.m. at the club grounds in Bena. The all-you-can-eat-and-drink event includes oysters (fried, roasted and on the half-shell), clam chowder, clam fritters and on the half-shell, scallops fried and grilled, shrimp steamed and grilled, fried fish, steamed crabs, BBQ with coleslaw, hush puppies, French fries, wine and cheese, cake and ice cream. Beverages include water, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages include beer, wine and mixed drinks.

“The Gentlemen and Their Lady” band will provide music for listening and dancing. Parking is free. The club’s Seafood Festivals are held twice yearly on the third Wednesday of May and the third Wednesday of October.

Tickets are $75. Cut-off date for the sale of tickets is May 1 and will not be sold at the gate. Tickets may be purchased at Tillage Automotive, Whitley’s Peanuts, Weatherwax Insurance along Route 17, Hogge Real Estate on Main Street in Gloucester and Lyn’s Mini Mart on Guinea Road in Bena. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
