Hair Statements, Inc., located on Route 17 at Hayes, has added several new faces.

Jana Kay Burnette, who owned Jana Kay’s Beauty Salon at Tidemill Center for many years, is now an independent contractor at Hair Statements. Burnette said she wanted to continue work as a stylist, but without the added pressure of owning her salon, which closed in late July.

Several former Jana Kay employees have also rented booth space and now operate as independent contractors at Hair Statements: stylists Laurie Leigh and Laurie Kujawski and nail tech Kelly Richards. Teresa Smith, a shampoo tech, previously worked at Jana Kay’s and now is an employee at Hair Statements.

The new faces at the shop bring a lot of experience with them: Burnette has 39 years’ hair care experience, Kujawski, 43 years; Leigh, 32 years, and Richards, 15 years.

Gwen Edens, a stylist and color specialist with more than 35 years’ experience, has owned Hair Statements since 1998.
