Three face charges after home assault in Gloucester

Three men face charges after allegedly assaulting a Gloucester man in his home Saturday night and taking guns and safes from the residence.

Capt. J.W. Schick Jr. said the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault and theft in progress in the 5700 block of Ark Road at 10:48 p.m. The victim’s girlfriend had fled the home and called 911.

Schick said it was reported that three men arrived at the home and physically attacked the 23-year-old resident before taking several items and leaving. He said the victim, who knew at least one of his attackers, was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Based on descriptions provided by the victim and his girlfriend, Schick said deputies found the suspects’ vehicle a short time later and stopped it on Route 17 in the area of Quinn Motors at 11:19 p.m. Deputies detained the three occupants and recovered evidence related to the assault and robbery.
