Thousand Trails raises $1,600+ for Texas flood victims

Thousand Trails Chesapeake Bay RV Resort members and guests stepped up to the plate Labor Day weekend to lend a hand to the flooded and distressed victims of the hurricane in Texas, raising a total of $1,625.25, according to Sandy Corker, recreation director at the Dutton campground.

Labor Day weekend activities quickly changed focus to raising money to send to the Houston Food Bank. TTCB members, staff and guests got to work on running raffles and collecting cash donations. Craft fair vendor fees and all the cash collected from the votes for the Hillbilly Babe Beauty Pageant went to this relief effort.

“We will continue fundraising efforts through Sept. 17,” Corker said. TTCB’s upcoming Bluegrass by the Bay Festival will be held Sept. 14, 15 and 16; the RV resort is open to the public for this event. There will be 18 bluegrass bands performing over the three days.
