A funeral for Thomas William Blake, 93, of Williamsburg, was held on Tuesday, Aug. 28 in Morning Glory Baptist Church, Gloucester. He died Aug. 20, 2018. 

He attended Gloucester schools and became a deacon at Morning Glory Baptist Church.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isiah and Mary Dell Blake; his wife, Doris Washington; two brothers, Kenneth Blake Sr. and Patrick Blake, and a son, William T. Blake. 

Mr. Blake worked at Newport News Shipyard as a grinder and rigger for 40 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Diane Taylor of Williamsburg; a granddaughter, and three great-grandsons.
